System.Threading.ThreadLocal<T>.Dispose Method

Releases all resources used by the current instance of the System.Threading.ThreadLocal`1 class.

Syntax

public void Dispose ()

Remarks

Call Dispose when you are finished using the System.Threading.ThreadLocal`1. The Dispose method leaves the System.Threading.ThreadLocal`1 in an unusable state. After calling Dispose, you must release all references to the System.Threading.ThreadLocal`1 so the garbage collector can reclaim the memory that the System.Threading.ThreadLocal`1 was occupying.

For more information, see Cleaning Up Unmanaged Resources and Implementing a Dispose Method.

Note:

Always call Dispose before you release your last reference to the System.Threading.ThreadLocal`1. Otherwise, the resources it is using will not be freed until the garbage collector calls the System.Threading.ThreadLocal`1 object's Finalize method.
