System.Windows.Forms.TextBoxBase.BackColor Property

Gets or sets the background color of the control.

Syntax

[System.Runtime.InteropServices.DispId(-501)]
public override System.Drawing.Color BackColor { set; get; }

Value

Documentation for this section has not yet been entered.

Remarks

You can use the TextBoxBase.BackColor property to change the background color of the text control to blend into the color scheme of your forms.

To change the color of the text within the control, use the TextBoxBase.ForeColor property. When setting the TextBoxBase.BackColor property of your text control, ensure that the color you choose does not cause the text of the control to disappear. For example, if the TextBoxBase.BackColor and TextBoxBase.ForeColor properties are both set to Color.Black, the text within your textbox control will not be visible.

This property might be over ridden if the TextBoxBase.ReadOnly property of the System.Windows.Forms.TextBoxBase is set to true.
