System.Windows.Forms.TextBox.OnGotFocus Method

Raises the Control.GotFocus event.

Syntax

protected override void OnGotFocus (EventArgs e)

Parameters

e
An EventArgs that contains the event data.

Remarks

When the user selects text in a System.Windows.Forms.TextBox control, the control saves the selection. When a System.Windows.Forms.TextBox control gets focus, the selection is the same as when the System.Windows.Forms.TextBox loses focus. When the System.Windows.Forms.TextBox gets focus for the first time, the entire text is selected.

Raising an event invokes the event handler through a delegate. For more information, see Raising an Event.

The TextBox.OnGotFocus(EventArgs) method also allows derived classes to handle the event without attaching a delegate. This is the preferred technique for handling the event in a derived class.
