System.Windows.Forms.MenuItem.Dispose Method

Disposes of the resources (other than memory) used by the System.Windows.Forms.MenuItem.

Syntax

protected override void Dispose (bool disposing)

Parameters

disposing
true to release both managed and unmanaged resources; false to release only unmanaged resources.

Remarks

Call MenuItem.Dispose(bool) when you are finished using the System.Windows.Forms.MenuItem. The MenuItem.Dispose(bool) method leaves the System.Windows.Forms.MenuItem in an unusable state. After calling MenuItem.Dispose(bool), you must release all references to the System.Windows.Forms.MenuItem so the memory it was occupying can be reclaimed by garbage collection.

Note:

Always call MenuItem.Dispose(bool) before you release your last reference to the System.Windows.Forms.MenuItem. Otherwise, the resources the System.Windows.Forms.MenuItem is using will not be freed until garbage collection calls the System.Windows.Forms.MenuItem object's destructor.

Requirements

Namespace: System.Windows.Forms
Assembly: System.Windows.Forms (in System.Windows.Forms.dll)
