The System.ComponentModel.PropertyDescriptor for a column is set using the BindingManagerBase.GetItemProperties method of the System.Windows.Forms.BindingManagerBase. See the DataGridColumnStyle.#ctor constructor for an example of using the System.ComponentModel.PropertyDescriptor to create a new System.Windows.Forms.DataGridColumnStyle.
