System.Web.UI.Page.OnPreLoad Method

Raises the Page.PreLoad event after postback data is loaded into the page server controls but before the Control.OnLoad(EventArgs) event.

Syntax

protected virtual void OnPreLoad (EventArgs e)

Parameters

e
An EventArgs that contains the event data.

Remarks

The Page.OnPreLoad(EventArgs) method is called after all postback data returned from the user is loaded. At this stage in the page's life cycle, view-state information and postback data for declared controls and controls created during the initialization stage are loaded into the page's controls.

Controls created in the Page.OnPreLoad(EventArgs) method will also be loaded with view-state and postback data.

Raising an event invokes the event handler through a delegate. For more information, see Handling and Raising Events.

The Page.OnPreLoad(EventArgs) method also allows derived classes to handle the event without attaching a delegate. This is the preferred technique for handling the event in a derived class.
