System.Web.UI.WebControls.GridView.OnPageIndexChanging Method

Raises the GridView.PageIndexChanging event.

Syntax

protected virtual void OnPageIndexChanging (GridViewPageEventArgs e)

Parameters

e
A System.Web.UI.WebControls.GridViewPageEventArgs that contains event data.

Remarks

The GridView.PageIndexChanging event is raised when one of the pager buttons is clicked, but before the System.Web.UI.WebControls.GridView control handles the paging operation. This enables you to provide an event-handling method that performs a custom routine, such as canceling the paging operation, whenever this event occurs.

Raising an event invokes the event handler through a delegate. For more information, see Raising an Event.

The GridView.OnPageIndexChanging(GridViewPageEventArgs) method also allows derived classes to handle the event without attaching a delegate. This is the preferred technique for handling the event in a derived class.
