System.Web.UI.WebControls.WebControl.LoadViewState Method

Restores view-state information from a previous request that was saved with the WebControl.SaveViewState method.

Syntax

protected override void LoadViewState (object savedState)

Parameters

savedState
An object that represents the control state to restore.

Remarks

This method is used primarily by the .NET Framework infrastructure and is not intended to be used directly from your code. However, control developers can override this method to specify how a custom server control restores its view state. For more information, see ASP.NET State Management Overview.

The WebControl.LoadViewState(object) method restores the view-state information that was saved during a previous WebControl.SaveViewState request. The System.Web.UI.WebControls.WebControl class overrides the base System.Web.UI.Control.LoadViewState(object) method to handle the System.Web.UI.Control.ViewState, WebControl.Style, and WebControl.Attributes properties.
