Remarks

Returns the double conversion of the most negative (closest to negative infinity) integer value greater than or equal to the argument.

Special cases:

  • ceil(+0.0) = +0.0
  • ceil(-0.0) = -0.0
  • ceil((anything in range (-1,0)) = -0.0
  • ceil(+infinity) = +infinity
  • ceil(-infinity) = -infinity
  • ceil(NaN) = NaN
