System.Windows.Forms.ToolStripComboBox.OnSelectionChangeCommitted Method

Raises the ComboBox.SelectionChangeCommitted event.

Syntax

protected virtual void OnSelectionChangeCommitted (EventArgs e)

Parameters

e
An EventArgs that contains the event data.

Remarks

ComboBox.SelectionChangeCommitted is raised only when the user changes the combo box selection. Do not use ToolStripComboBox.SelectedIndexChanged or ListControl.SelectedValueChanged to capture user changes, because those events are also raised when the selection changes programmatically. This event is also raised when you set ToolStripComboBox.SelectedIndex.

Raising an event invokes the event handler through a delegate. For more information, see Raising an Event.

The ToolStripComboBox.OnSelectionChangeCommitted(EventArgs) method also allows derived classes to handle the event without attaching a delegate. This is the preferred technique for handling the event in a derived class.
