Installing NLTK =============== NLTK requires Python versions 2.6-2.7. (A version supporting Python 3 is available at http://nltk.org/nltk3-alpha/). Mac/Unix -------- #. Install Setuptools: http://pypi.python.org/pypi/setuptools #. Install Pip: run ``sudo easy_install pip`` #. Install Numpy (optional): run ``sudo pip install -U numpy`` #. Install PyYAML and NLTK: run ``sudo pip install -U pyyaml nltk`` #. Test installation: run ``python`` then type ``import nltk`` Windows ------- These instructions assume that you do not already have Python installed on your machine. If you do, you can skip to the final step and just install NLTK. 32-bit binary installation ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ #.
