Description
The Remove-DhcpServerDnsCredential cmdlet removes the credential that the Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) Server service uses to register or deregister client records on a Domain Name System (DNS) server. If you remove the credentials, the DHCP Server service uses the server account of the system that runs the DHCP server to register or deregister client records with the DNS server.
Use the Set-DhcpServerDnsCredential cmdlet to add a credential.
Examples
Example 1: Remove a credential from a DHCP server
PS C:\> Remove-DhcpServerDnsCredential -ComputerName "DhcpServer03.Contoso.com"
This command removes the DNS credential that the DHCP server uses to register or deregister client records on a DNS server. The command identifies the DHCP server by name.
Optional Parameters
Runs the cmdlet as a background job.
Use this parameter to run commands that take a long time to complete.
The cmdlet immediately returns an object that represents the job and then displays the command prompt.
You can continue to work in the session while the job completes.
To manage the job, use the
*-Job
cmdlets.
To get the job results, use the
Receive-Job
cmdlet.
For more information about Windows PowerShell® background jobs, see
