The Export-DnsServerZone cmdlet creates a file containing resource records for an Active Directory-integrated zone for troubleshooting purposes. This file is not in the same format as a file-backed zonefile. By default, the cmdlet places the file in the Domain Name System (DNS) directory.

Example 1: Export a zone
PS C:\> Export-DnsServerZone -Name "western.contoso.com" -FileName "exportedcontoso.com"This command exports the zone named western.contoso.com to a file called exportedcontoso.com.

Specifies a name for the export file. You can include a file path.

Optional Parameters
Runs the cmdlet as a background job. Use this parameter to run commands that take a long time to complete.
The cmdlet immediately returns an object that represents the job and then displays the command prompt.
You can continue to work in the session while the job completes.
To manage the job, use the
*-Job
cmdlets.
To get the job results, use the
Receive-Job
cmdlet.
