Hi, At 10 points, Vera Sans's U+00E5, aka LATIN SMALL LETTER A WITH RING ABOVE has the ring not at all very pleasingly placed. This can be seen in the gucharmap, for example. Looking at the gucharmap chart, a couple of other dicritics get oddly placed: diaeresis seems to be put a little to the right in LATIN SMALL LETER I WITH DIAERESIS, on the LATIN SMALL LETTER Y WITH DIAERESIS, and a couple more. This effect disappears at bigger sizes. I'm using xft 2.1.2 (TT hinted), fontconfig 2.2.0 and libfreetype 9.3.3 (?) Attached is a screenshot of gucharmap showing latin supplement/extended.
