DejaVu Fonts 2.9 released

DejaVu fonts 2.9 (http://dejavu.sourceforge.net) has been released

Almost 300 new glyphs were added this release. Notable additions are
arrows in Mono and Hebrew in Sans (Hebrew isn't included in the LGC
version). Cyrillic in Sans has been furter improved.

The addition of the arrows in Mono means that Mono is now also MES-1
compliant (joining Sans and Serif which were already made MES-1
compliant in earlier releases).

This release also marks the switch to Unicode 5.0, which means that some
glyphs of the updated standard found it's way into DejaVu. Please
update your Unicode data files if you are regenerating the status files
yourself.

The Extra Light weight variant of Sans isn't part of the Sans family
anymore, which makes it possible to use the variant in programs that
don't support more than the four basic variants. If your program
supports the preferred family name (aka ID 17), Extra Light will still
be part of the Sans family.
