The Login.Password property contains the password entered by the user. The password is in clear text. For more information, see Basic Security Practices for Web Applications.
If you manipulate the Login.UserName or Login.Password properties programmatically, it is important to do so at the correct time during the page life cycle. The values of Login.UserName and Login.Password are not available during the Page_Load phase, but are during the Pre_Render phase.
System.Web.UI.WebControls.Login control properties represented by text boxes, such as Login.UserName and Login.Password, are accessible during all phases of the page life cycle. The control will pick up any changes made by the end user by means of the TextBox.TextChanged event triggered by the textboxes.
