System.Web.UI.WebControls.DetailsView.ItemUpdated Event

Occurs when an Update button within a System.Web.UI.WebControls.DetailsView control is clicked, but after the update operation.

Syntax

public event DetailsViewUpdatedEventHandler ItemUpdated

Remarks

The DetailsView.ItemUpdated event is raised when an Update button within the System.Web.UI.WebControls.DetailsView control is clicked, but after the update operation. This allows you to provide an event handler that performs a custom routine, such as checking the results of the update operation, whenever this event occurs.

A System.Web.UI.WebControls.DetailsViewUpdatedEventArgs object is passed to the event handler, which allows you to determine the number of rows affected and any exceptions that might have occurred. You can also indicate whether the exception was handled in the event handler by setting the DetailsViewUpdatedEventArgs.ExceptionHandled property. To keep the control in edit mode after an update operation, set the DetailsViewUpdatedEventArgs.KeepInEditMode property to true.

For more information about handling events, see Consuming Events.
