Remarks

The FormView.ModeChanging event is raised when a System.Web.UI.WebControls.FormView control attempts to switch between edit, insert, and read-only mode, but before the mode actually changes. This allows you to provide an event-handling method that performs a custom routine, such as configuring the System.Web.UI.WebControls.FormView control for a specific mode or canceling the mode change, whenever this event occurs.

When you create a System.Web.UI.WebControls.FormViewModeEventHandler delegate, you identify the method that will handle the event. To associate the event with your event handler, add an instance of the delegate to the event. The event handler is called whenever the event occurs, unless you remove the delegate. For more information about event-handler delegates, see Events and Delegates.
